Alcuni romantici gesti della cultura italiana
L’Italia è un paese di romantici, del resto la matrice stessa della parola “romantico” racchiude il nome della città di Roma.
L’uomo italiano è molto galante, ama corteggiare la donna con gesti degni di una sceneggiatura di un film (sorprese piene di strategia, inseguimenti, fiori, lettere, regali studiati e mai banali), ma prima di tutto la tratta sempre ed esclusivamente come un gioiello. L’Italia per tradizione ama e idolatra la donna -le famiglie sono matriarcali, la mamma è l’icona per eccellenza, la Madonna è la figura santa a cui tutti gli italiani si rivolgono quando nel resto del mondo si chiama Dio o Gesù-, quindi la signorina che si vuole conquistare è il più grande sogno di una vita: colei che diventerà la compagna di una vita e madre dei propri figli.
Dal punto di vista pratico, un gentiluomo italiano, in presenza di una “Signora”, le apre la portiera dell’automobile, le prende la giacca, la fa accomodare al tavolo, le offre la cena e la tratta semplicemente da principessa.
Some common romantic gestures from the Italian culture
Italy is a country of romantics; after all, the very stem of the word “romantic” encompasses the name of the city of Rome.
The Italian man is very gallant, loves to court a woman with gestures worthy of a screenplay of a film (strategically planned surprises, pursuits, flowers, letters, carefully planned unusual gifts) but most importantly treats her always and exclusively like a jewel. Italian culture traditionally loves and worships women – the family is matriarchal, the mother is the ultimate icon, the Madonna is the holy figure to which all Italians refer while the rest of the world calls it God or Jesus – however the lady that one wants to conquer is the most important dream of one’s life: she who will become the companion for life and the mother of one’s children.
From the practical point of view, an Italian gentleman, in the presence of a “lady”, opens the car door for her, takes her coat, accompanies her to the table, treats her to dinner and in general treats her like a princess.
