Keeping up with your Living Language over the Holidays

The end of the December is a busy time, as the next couple of weeks are filled with cooking, baking, parties, gift shopping, friends, family… and keeping up with your Living Language studies that you’ve dedicated so much time to.

Here are some ideas on how to keep up with your language learning during this busy holiday season.

Cook Around the World
Food is an essential to the holidays, so try adding a cultural dish to your traditions. See if you can translate the original recipe to the language you’re learning. Don’t forget to translate it back for your guests! If you need some inspiration, check out our Holiday Recipes tab on Facebook.

Sing & Dance
Everyone loves listening to those classic holiday tunes. How about playing holiday music in another language while you get ready or host events? If you need a music recommendation, reach out to your eTutor on Twitter (@LL_French, @LL_Spanish, @LL_Italian, @LL_German, @LL_Chinese, @LL_Japanese, @LL_English, @LL_Arabic)!

Keep in Touch
In an ever-growing digital world, sending holiday cards is a timeless tradition this time of year. Show someone you’re thinking about them by making your own holiday cards with a message in another language. Your note will be unique and stand out to friends and family.

Curl up with a Movie
What’s better than sitting on the couch with loved ones, hot chocolate and your favorite holiday films? Change the language option on your TV or DVD to the language you’re learning (subtitles will work, too) to get an extra boost of practice in!

Relax & Take a Break
Learning languages is challenging but FUN! As the holidays get stressful, designate some time for yourself to sit down with your Living Language book or app and learn something new.

And don’t forget… Living Language products make a great holiday gift for someone special on your shopping list!
