Living Language Note: Over the next few months, our new friend Ari will learning Spanish and sharing her journey on the blog! When she’s not reading her Living Language books & playing games on her Living Language app, Ari is a Program Planner at Public Responsibility in Medicine and Research in Boston, Massachusetts. Make sure to leave a comment & say hello in the language you’re learning.
Hello!
My name is Ari, and I’ll be working on learning Spanish with Living Language over the next few months. This is a great opportunity for me to expand my knowledge, become a better-rounded person, and finally be able to compete with those very talented friends of mine who speak multiple languages. While I have a basic knowledge of Hebrew as well, I’m really hoping to gain a fair amount of fluency with Spanish so that I can be comfortable speaking it.
Besides a general belief that knowing Spanish can only be a benefit in today’s America, and a sincere envy of all my bilingual friends, I’m also hoping Spanish can help me professionally. I’m trying to forge a career in public health, and am increasingly realizing that Spanish is a necessary part of the field. Learning the language will hopefully open up opportunities for me and provide me with a valuable skill.
In addition, this is a great chance for me to see exactly how much of my high school Spanish I remember! I studied Spanish for four years, and while I enjoyed it, a combination of teenage lethargy and a lack of application in the intervening years mean that I have forgotten much of it. Living Language is the perfect chance to start again at the beginning and fill in all the gaps, so that I can use what I remember as well as gain new knowledge.
So, my Living Language Platinum Spanish package has arrived, and I am ready to go!
