The self-portrait of Leonardo can be finally admired (for a few days).

If you are in Italy, you should not miss this opportunity. The self-portrait of Leonardo is exposed in Turin, starting today, for the first time as a part of the last events commemorating the 150th anniversary of the Unification of Italy.

The portrait of the genius is a little drawing in red chalk on paper (33.5 x 21.6 cm). The portrait has a complicated history and finally reappared in the early nineteenth century in Milan, when the portrait was reproduced to make the frontispiece of a volume in 1840. The same year it was sold to the Italian royal family, the Savoy. Now, it resurfaced again.
