Like many, I waited anxiously for Apple’s announcement for the iPhone5. It never came. But last week I giddily picked up my brand-new iPhone4s. (I also picked up insurance. Be mindful of your big slouchy open purse in crowded bars. I learned my lesson the hard way.)

The University of Alcala. By Michael Chlistalla.
As I re-downloaded all the apps I lost on my previous phone, one I was sure to include was Living Language Spanish. I’ve studied Spanish for many years, in high school and college, including a semester abroad in Alcalá de Henares, Spain. (Being Filipino with a Spanish-sounding last name, I figured learning the language would be helpful in understanding my own culture.)
If you’ve studied Spanish previously like I have, I recommend upgrading to the full version with all 46 lessons for $14.99. It may seem like a lot for an app, but it truly has everything you need to brush up on your Spanish.
With over 500 flashcards, listening exercises, and fun games (bubble burst is a personal fave), I’m able to regain what I learned abroad while on line at the grocery store or during my commute. It’s not the same as drinking sangria on the Plaza de Santa Ana, but I hope to go back one day. In the meantime, I’ll use the app and make sure no one snatches my iPhone again!
