With Summer approaching, the days getting longer and warmer, one cannot help but think of "Biergarten", a truly German invention that has gained increased popularity in the US, especially in the NY-area where beer gardens are sprouting in every neighborhood now!!

Originally, and still existing like this in Germany, a traditional Biergarten is where you bring your own food and just buy the Bier!! People, friends and strangers alike, sit on long wooden tables with benches under chestnut trees long into the evening hours, often entertained by "Blasmusik" (literally "blow music" named this way as the little orchestra exists mainly of trumpets, horns and tubas :-)
