Rules of the Road
Participation in User Forums
Keep it relevant: For everyone's benefit please stay on topic. Please refrain from discussing personal matters, abusing any company or product, or, in general, from posting in a manner unrelated to the forum topic.
Be courteous: Please make sure that you don't detract from anyone else's experience. In particular, please don't post anything unlawful, libelous, defamatory, obscene, profane, pornographic, indecent, lewd, harassing, threatening, harmful, invasive of privacy or publicity rights, abusive, inflammatory or otherwise objectionable or injurious to third parties.
Your own work: Don't post content you do not have the right to post or that infringes a third party's trademark, patent, trade secret, copyright, publicity, privacy, or other right.
No personal attacks: Your opinions are always welcome, but personal attacks and harassment ("flaming") are not acceptable.
Keep it clear: Please communicate clearly so everyone can understand you. Avoid using slang, "net speak" or any other wording which might be difficult for all users to understand. We are a diverse community and seek to provide a comfortable environment where you can get help from other users like yourself. This can only happen if we can understand each other.
No advertising or commercials: The blogs are a service to Living Language users and are not intended for the promotion of third party services, products, websites, or organizations. Posting advertising, junk mail, spam, chain letters, or any other form of unauthorized solicitation will not be tolerated.
No tampering: Don't try to intercept or harvest data about third parties, attempt to hack or break into non public parts of the blogs, or delete, tamper with or revise any comment posted by anyone else.
Guard your information: Don't post sensitive personal information in your comment such as a credit card number or Social Security Number. If anyone asks you for personal information, such as an account number, address, password or credit card number, do not provide it. If you are asked for this information, please notify the Living Language team.
Be careful: Most people who are commenting are trying to help out on the blogs, but remember that their advice is theirs only and that you are responsible for deciding whether or not to follow it. If the advice sounds wrong to you, do not try it.
