"Kraftwerk" performing at MoMA in NY!!

    The German Band Kraftwerk is currently performing at the MoMA as part of a retrospective featuring each of their 8 albums on consecutive nights - when did you hear your first Kraftwerk song? Which one was it?

    The first song I ever heard by Kraftwerk was "The Model." I'd always heard it in English, but I just listened to the German version "Das Model."  It's so good! (Btw, on the album it's spelled "Das Modell." Not sure which one is correct.)

    That's a really good question!! "Modell" with pronunciation emphasis on the last syllable is the German version of the English "model". Over the years, the English word "model" replaced "Modell" morphing into "Model" with capital "M" ... hmmm we could start a whole new discussion on anglicized words in the modern German language ... stay tuned!! In the meantime, here is my first KRAFTWERK song - still love it!!
