Essential Italian Lesson 5, Work out 2

I am confused on item 4 of this exercise. It says: "La sua nipote è di Roma" to be changed to the plural "Le sue nipoti sono di Roma" I don't understand why the singular version has the "La" I am probably completely off base. I would be grateful if someone would straighten me out. Thanks.

Dear Julie,
You understood the use of the possessive adjectives correctly. The exercise should say "Sua nipote è di Roma." "La sua nipote è di Roma" can be heard in spoken language in Italy, but the first version is definitively more accurate!
