    Today, let us learn how we use 得 (de) to help describe an action. It is one of the characters that often gets confused with 的 and 地, since they could be pronounced as a neutral tone "de".

    Structure
    Descriptive complements are used to describe the action of a verb. 

    Verb + 得 + Adj.(Description)

    Examples

    Nǐ shuō de hěn hǎo。
    你 说 得 很 好。
    You speak very well.

    Tā zuò de hěn bú hǎo。
    他 做 得 很 不 好。
    He did it very poorly.

    Tāde shī xiě de háibúcuò。
    她的 诗 写 得 还不错。
    She writes poems well.

    Zhèpiān wénzhānɡ fānyì de bútàihǎo 。
    这篇 文章 翻译 得 不太好。
    This essay was not translated so well.

    tā gāng qín dàn dé hěn měi!
    他钢琴弹得很美!
    He plays the piano very beautifully!
