Where do I start?
-
Hi everyone!
I just purchased the Chinese Platinum Edition and with all the books, CDs, and electronic resources available, I can't figure out where to start. Are all of these supposed to be used together? Am I supposed to start at the books and then progress to the electronic materials? Basically, I'm just not sure how to use the system. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Hi dotcom,The books (Complete Edition), the online course and the app all cover the same concepts, but you should know that there are slight differences. The online course comes with access to some additional online only games that you can use to practice what you learned. Also, the online course comes with access to eTutoring, online review sessions with a native speaker tutor. The idea behind Platinum is to give you the option to study on paper/with CDs, on your computer or on your phone/tablet, so that wherever you are, you can keep studying. I would recommend starting with whatever form is most convenient for you. If you start with the book, be sure to check online for additional practice with the games and also, schedule an orientation session with an etutor as soon as you can. Then when you finish lessons 1 and 2 of Essential, you'll be ready for your first "real" etutoring session, which you can schedule on our site as well here:http://www.livinglanguage.com/etutoring/Let us know if you have any questions! Also, keep in mind that the books come with quizzes to test your knowledge that are not included in the app or online course.Good luck!Erin
