Comida para llevar ???
  • allennev June 2014
I went into this terrific Mexican deli in a supermarket and said smartly -  Yo quisiera dos tacos de pollo. -  La dependienta says quickly - ¿Por aquí? -  I mumble a bit, stumble a bit, process, process and then stammer:  "No, to go."  en inglés!!!!  Ach!!!

At home, with the help of the machine translators I came up with:  No, para ir.  and also No, para llevar.   Or, I could say - No, es para llevar.  Am I on the right track?  How about this? - Quisiera dos tacos de pollo para llevar, por favor.

    Gracias,

    Allen

    Hola, Allen:

It´s very inspiring to learn about the new risks that you´re taking in your life.
You bring up a very important issue for Americans: take out.
Yes, in Spain we say PARA LLEVAR. I wonder if la dependienta in your Mexican delli approves of it. Try it, and let us know.

    Saludos,

    Carmen.
