Arabic Alphabet

Does anyone have any tips for understanding and/or learning the Arabic Alphabet?  The course explains letters little bits at a time.... I'd like to have the whole alphabet in order to better understand the vocabulary. Thanks!

The best way is to try to divide the alphabet into two groups; one according to their shapes eg.  ج ح خ and the other one according to their sounds eg. ذ ز ظ. This will help you learn how to write and pronounce the alphabet.

take your time while studying them  study five letters a day and try to memorize them the other day with a new 5 letters  then study new 5 letters and memorize the other 10 letters youve studed
remember that alif ( أ ) is like number one so it is the first letter  and you pronounce it like the English  first letter  A if the  hamza ( ء ) is above it   ب which is pronounced like  b in english is the second letter  so after the ب the other letters are similar in shape of the ب
    ت ث
ta'a (ت) has two dots above it so from "t"wo we can remember  it is ta'a  then  push your tongue like when you pronounce thief  this is the (ث)
remember that (ث) which has 3  dots  is the thief who  stole the dots from the ta'a and the ba'a

Try "The Arabic Alphabet" by Awde & Samano for a supplemental text.. Best price from Amazon, I found!  I think the gradual approach of the course is great though but like you I wanted to move a little faster - the included course "Script" book is also great! Good Luck

    Good Luck

The way I mastered it was by playing with apps on my phone.  Just go to the app market and type "Arabic."  You'll find loads of apps there.  I also practiced writing it out everyday, and also found books on Amazon on how to master the alphabet.  As a non-Arab, I mastered it in less than 2 weeks.  If I can do it, anyone can :)
