Platinum French
-
I purchased the platinum edition to learn French. I completed 100% of the Beginning section, but I can only access 83% of the intermediate portion. I cannot access 14 games, which is a shame, because I feel I learn from these. I find them very useful. Is this a bug in the software or a problem with something else. I do my courses via internet.

Dear MarlaK,With the Platinum Edition, you have access to all of the games available for your French course. If I understand right, on your My Courses page, you see that you've completed 83% of the Intermediate level. That means that there are sections of the course that you haven't clicked into, possibly a Culture of Further section, or possibly some games. The percentage is more than just games though, so you could have missed any type of section. If you want to make sure that you've played all of the games, you can go to "All Games" at the bottom of your screen when you enter the Intermediate level. That will show you all of the games in Intermediate (which are also reachable just by going through the course, but this way you can see them all at once) and then you can ensure that you haven't missed any game.I hope this is helpful.Best,Erin

I don't think you understood me. I know about the way to see all the games at once. There are games that just won't open so that I can do them. The games don't work... on my computer; however they DO work on my iPad.I just began Lesson 1 Advanced, and I am having the same problem, again on my computer. The Sentence Builder worked, as did the Multiple Choice. However, the bubbles and the other option do not open, they just spin and spin etc and do not open so I can do them.

and on my try back, the fill in worked that time (Advanced, lesson 1, French) but not the bubbles. I'm starting to wonder if it has to do with the number of people trying to access it at the same time? I don't really know, other than it is frustrating.

Ha! Now the intermediate french games that didn't work before ARE working! I think you all need to invest in some more servers.

Dear MarlaK,Sorry for the frustration with our games. This issue is likely due to the fact that to play our games, you must download the fonts used in these games, and this can be a large amount of data. Once it downloads and caches on your computer, it should load faster henceforth, but the initial download can take a while. We're investigating ways to make this download smaller, but in the meantime there are a couple of things that you can do that should make the loading work faster:1. Make sure you have the latest Flash installed: http://www.adobe.com/support/flashplayer/downloads.html2. Update your browser, e.g. https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/update-firefox-latest-versionDepending on your internet connection, the loading will also be slower or faster, of course.
Our apologies for the trouble. Please try the above recommendations and we will continue to work on a solution on our end.Best,

Whats the name of the APP for Android?
-
From our FAQs:Living Language apps for Android™ and Nook®, both paid and free, are no longer available.
Unfortunately, we had to pull the apps down from the Google Play and Nook stores before the Android and Nook logos were removed from our Platinum packages. If you purchased a Platinum Edition that advertises either of these apps, please contact [email protected] for additional details. You may be eligible for a refund from the retailer (if it is unopened).
We regret that supporting Android and Nook is not a viable option for us right now due to the proliferation of devices and OS updates. In order to continue offering a robust list of languages, we had to sacrifice the Android and Nook updates for the sake of maintaining the high quality of our iPhone® and iPad® apps.
