ללכת or הולכת?
  • PilgrimJess April 2014
    Hello.
I was wondering if someone could help me here.
If I want to say, "I like to "walk" on the beach" Or "I want to "walk" on the beach"
what would be the correct way of saying these two sentences?

    אבי אוהבת ללכת על החול
    אני אוהבת הולכת על החול

    אני רוצה ללכת על החוף
    אני רוצה חולכת על החוף

If someone could please point out the differences, I'd appreciate it. Thank you. :)

    Hi there,
I am the Living Language eTutor...

    אני אוהבת ללכת על החול
I like to walk on the beach.

    אני רוצה ללכת על החוף
I want to walk on the beach

We use the verb followed by the infinitive : I like> 'ani 'ohevet to walk> laleHet.
The difference between your first and second examples are literally, "I like to walk..." and "I like walk..."

    Hope this is helpful.
