False friends are words that can seem similar in appareance but have totally different meanings in Spanish and English.

Here are some false friends examples:

Decepción is a disappointment, (not a deception  / deception = engaño).

Librería is a book store, (not library  /  library = biblioteca)

Carpeta is a file folder including the digital ones, (not a carpet / carpet = alfombra)

Argumento is  the type of argument a lawyer might make. It can also refer to
the theme of a book, play or similar work. (Not argument as a quarrel / quarrel = discusión or disputa)

Educado means polite, (not educated / educated = instruido)

Conductor means driver, (not conductor as the person who leads an orchestra ( conductor = director de orquesta)

You can practise this new vocabulary making your own flashcards.

TIP = Use a different color for those flashcards that are false friends, also for the ones that are verbs. That will help you to find and organize them if you just want to practise with one of those.
