Expansion
  • fmp0011 February 2013
I was wondering if there were any plans to expand this course at a later date. Maybe some more games, which for me, is one of the most helpful tools, or more vocabulary. Just curious.
  • Christopher February 2013
Yes! We're looking at a few more game types, and a way to recycle vocabulary more frequently for better retention. We're just at the proposal stage, so I honestly don't have a time table for that, but it is something we're looking at.

Right now we're focused on bringing out new languages: Portuguese, Russian, Hindi, Hebrew, Korean, Irish Gaelic, Swahili, Polish, Dutch, Tagalog, Farsi... But we're also always looking at ways to enhance the languages we have.

Hey, Christopher! Do you brilliant people have any plans to release physical essential & complete editions of the aforementioned languages? Swahili, Polish, Dutch, etc.?

I'm especially interested in Farsi being released. I'd love to buy it.

    HyperPolyglot,
We based our Farsi/Swahili/Polish/Dutch Online Courses on the Spoken World courses in these languages that we already have in print, as they are similar to the method we were using in our Complete Courses. You can find more information on the Farsi physical book and CD package  by clicking this link and then selecting "Other" next to "Select format type" in the upper right corner. Hope this helps!

Are there any plans to release a second course for Japanese? Something for people who complete this course?
  • Erin March 2015
    Hi Frankie3,
At the moment, we have no plans to extend the newest Japanese course (meaning the Complete Edition and online course), though it is possible that we will add additional activities to the existing online course in the future. If you have an online course subscription, I'd recommend reinforcing what you've learned by taking our e-Tutoring sessions. There are four Advanced sessions, so if you've just completed Advanced, it would be a good time to take those.  In these sessions, you are asked to apply what you've learned in a conversational context, which is a lot more challenging than completing the games or filling in activities in the book.  Your tutor Sakura will also undoubtedly help you with your pronunciation, which is one of the toughest aspects of learning any language, as I'm sure you know.  You might also try listening to podcasts in Japanese and consuming news in Japanese:
