the price of formal education?
  • shay February 9

in the educational system we learn the language in a very dry way just like science is taught to us.
there are a lot of a reading and answering parts, grammer knowledge, a lot of mishmash subjects with vocabulary memorization lists.
students have a lack of speaking and listening skills cause they don`t speak and hear the language and learn step by step.

the mind works in a way of installing and price processing the date and developing skils.

what pice do we pay for learning in this way and what living language improves and adds to our learning process?

    Hi Shay !

Thanks for bringing up this topic. It really engages me. I would like to add my perspective to the same.
Getting to know a language is so much more than the right grammar, vocabulary and pronunciation. It offers great insights into the culture, history and social dynamics of a society. There are so many finer nuances to learning a language, that the thrill of never completely getting there, holds an amazing allure, as languages are always developing.

Having said that, learning tools like the online program that I've enrolled for, through Living Language, are a great source of engaged learning for enthusiasts like me, who are always short of time but never short of inclination.
My favorite section is the Forum. Even when I'm unable to catch up with my e-tutorials, and not able to spend enough time on the lessons, a quick visit to the forum always leaves me richer and more appreciative of the module. I also look forward to the examples and homework that Anna puts up, quite frequently. Plus, the various queries and perspectives shared, only add onto, and widen, one's own perspective.

So learning Español is Easy, Enlightening, Engaging and Entertaining :)

    Hey !
With so many innovations in technology and e-learning evolving overtime, one would've thought that the administrative aspect of managing learning would get easier too. I guess certain aspects remain challenging despite the medium. Let's just hope that the achievements outweigh the challenges big time :)
