Internet Radio Links (All Languages)
  • Roe January 2013
Can the instructors post a few good talk-radio links for their respective languages?  I know there are many online radio stations, but very few just have talking.  Most seem to have some talk, and a lot of music.  I think talk alone would be best yes?

    Thanks!

Great suggestion. I think some of them have already, but it would be a good thing to bring back up to the front of the thread.

Incidentally, someone just told me about Tune In, which is both a site and an app. You can select radio by location, so you can choose a country or region. Looks like the apps are for iOS, Android, and Blackberry.

    -- Japanese Radio --

I've personally tried many Japanese internet radio stations but most of them are not so great. Instead, I recommend listening to Japanese podcasts offered by Japanese AM radio stations.I subscribe to NHK Radio News. This is where I get Japanese news every day. NHK is sort of like Japanese BBC. You hear proper Japanese. No gossips. Just straight news.

And if you're looking for more casual contents, there are many other podcasts you can choose from.

I really like this Spanish radio station: http://www.cadenaser.com/

You will find all different kind of radio shows. I always suggest to listen to the podcasts, since you can go back and forth and listen the same a couple of times if you get lost.

    My two favorite shows are:

Roe, I had posted in the forum about the radio a few months ago, but glad to repeat myself. Sorry for late reply but given that you are learning about 7 languages (KUDOS) , I am sure you have been busy. :)

If you need any other suggestions, please let me know.

Ha ha... it'll be eight as soon as Portuguese comes out!

We were starting to talk about great ways to practice your language in real life in the Japanese and Chinese forums. I'm bumping this to the top of the discussion list; radio listening is a fantastic way to expand your listening comprehension, and as Christopher said, you can access radio stations all over the world through the internet and apps.

Anyone have any other radio links to add to keep this list growing?

    French Radio:
I recently discovered RFI (Radio France Internationale) broadcasts the news in "simple French" (though beware it is not as simple as some would like it to be!) If you're an Intermediate-Advanced learner this is a good resource to practice your listening skills, I think.
    You go to:
    http://www.rfi.fr/
And click on "Journaux" on the left side in the box labeled "Ecouter RFI."
