TO ENTER: NO PURCHASE NECESSARY. To be eligible to enter this Sweepstakes, you must have a valid Facebook® account. To submit your entry, send us a statement explaining why you want to learn Arabic by leaving a comment on our Facebook page.
Entries must be received between 9:00 am (Eastern Time) on Wednesday, April 18, 2012 and 11:59 pm (Eastern Time) on Friday 20, 2012. Limited to one entry per person and Facebook account. In the case of a dispute over the identity of an entrant, the authorized account holder of the Twitter or Facebook account used to enter will be deemed to be the entrant. Sponsor is not responsible for lost/late/misdirected entries or computer malfunctions. Entries that do not conform to the language above, or otherwise contain errors, are incomplete, corrupted or illegible will not be accepted. Sponsor reserves the right to disqualify entries from anyone tampering with the Facebook entry process. Sponsor assumes no responsibility for any error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation or transmission, communications line failure, theft, destruction, or unauthorized access to Facebook.com
WHO CAN PARTICIPATE:
Open to legal residents of the 50 United States and the District of Columbia (excluding Puerto Rico) who are 18 years of age or older as of April 18, 2012. Employees of Random House, Inc., and its parents, subsidiaries, affiliates, agencies and immediate family and persons living in the same household of such employees are not eligible. Void in Puerto Rico and where prohibited.
PRIZE:
Five winners will receive one copy each of Essential Arabic (retail value: $22.99).
WINNER SELECTION:
Five winners will be selected at random drawing from all eligible entries, conducted on or about April 23, 2012 by the Sponsor, whose decisions are final. Odds of winning depend on the number of eligible entries received. The winners will be notified via their Facebook accounts and asked to provide their contact information within five (5) days of notification or an alternate winner will be chosen.
If, for any reason, the sweepstakes or any drawing is not capable of running as planned as a result of a computer virus, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical limitations or failures, or any other causes which, in the sole opinion of the Sponsor, could compromise, undermine or otherwise affect the Official Rules, administration, security, fairness or proper conduct of the sweepstakes, the Sponsor reserves the right and absolute discretion to modify these Official Rules and/or to cancel terminate, modify or suspend the sweepstakes. In the event of termination or cancellation, the winner will be selected from all eligible entries received before termination.
GENERAL CONDITIONS:
All taxes will be the responsibility of the winner. Sponsor is not responsible for injury or damage to any computer, other equipment, or person relating to or resulting from participation in the sweepstakes, or participation in the Twitter social network and/or Facebook.com. Sweepstakes is subject to applicable laws and regulations in the U.S. Participants release the Sponsor, its agencies, and assigns from any liability, damage and/or loss resulting from participation in sweepstakes and/or the acceptance, use or misuse of any prize. By their entry, participants fully and unconditionally agree to these rules and judges’ decisions, which are final and binding. By acceptance of prize, winner agrees to these Official Rules and Sponsor’s use of their name/likeness for commercial purposes without notification/compensation, except where prohibited by law.
