Friendship and relationship (slang) expressions

So, since you are learning Italian, you may find yourself having an Italian friend or partner in the near future. Actually, that may be the reason why you got your Living Language course in the first place. So, here are some useful expressions in the realm of friendship and relationships.
Chi trova un amico trova un tesoro. This is a proverb, "He who finds a friend, finds a treasure". Indeed.
La mia anima gemella. My soul mate. Literally it mean "My twin soul". It is usually used for a life partner or a very very good friend.
Il bastone della mia vecchiaia means "My old age's cane". It is the person who will support you in your old age: usually referred to love partner but also for a very good and old friend.
Patti chiari, amicizia lunga. It means something like "Clear understandings, long friendship". Patto mean "deal". That is: if things are very clear since the beginning (ie if the "deal" is clear), none of those things will become an obstacle in a relationship. This expression is very used in business-related transactions: if all the details are clear, all will work out well among the parties.
Il mio moroso/La mia morosa. This is a slang used only in some regions -- Emilia Romagna being a case in point. It is slang for boyfriend/girlfriend. Comes from Amore, of course.
Mogli e buoi dei paesi tuoi. This is a proverb, it literally means "Wifes and oxen [should be] of your own towns". Mogli "wifes" symbolizes love/personal relationships, and buoi "oxen" business relationships. It basically means that, to avoid any problems in life, all of your life should be as close as possible to your native culture, geography, and friends.
La mia dolce metá means "My sweet other half". There is no expression for "My bitter other half". Divorce (Divorzio), maybe.
